It's that time of year again.

It seems like Christmas was just here...but nevertheless it's upon us once more. This time around it's especially exciting because it's mine and Tyler's first Christmas together! :) Such happy times. I'm so excited to see his face when he opens his presents (even though he's already guessed one...oh well I've guessed one of mine so I guess we're even). When I bought his present I felt like someone would approach me and say something along the lines of "It looks like your little boy is going to have a fun Christmas." Yeah...my "little boy" is nearly 25 years old and goes by the title of My Husband ;) and that is one reason why I love him. He's as much of a little kid as I am. It's wonderful. We have good times. Anyway, the picture above is our first Christmas tree together, isn't it pretty! I was going to compare to last years disaster of a tree...but...I can't find the picture :( Oh well I'll just tell you, it wasn't pretty. This years experience was much better as you can see. Plus WE got to find it, cut it, drag it back together. Fabulous! This year is bringing a lot of changes to my usual Christmas traditions...I'm excited though. Since we have 3 families to negotiate time with we get Christmas for two days instead of one. Christmas day will be spent with the Shumways, first with Tyler's mom and then later with his dad and step-mom. It should be fun. Then on Monday the 26th, since I won't have work, we'll do Christmas with the Coleman's. I'm excited to start our own Christmas traditions, which I'm sure will grow even more when we have kids in a few years. I'm glad I get to spend the Holidays with Tyler and our families. I have a feeling it's going to be a great year!

How time flies!

So...remember this?

And this?
How about this?

Well I remember. I can't believe we've hit 6 months already! It's been wonderful too! We had a great summer and now we've been busy with school. We're looking forward to Thanksgiving next week and then the Christmas season after that. We've had some good times and here are a few of them.

This was my birthday cake.

Yeah I think we love each other. :) My life is so great! I love Tyler with all of my heart. He's so sweet and good to me all the time. Here's to the last six months, the next six months, and the many many years to come!

I am Grateful

So as I'm sitting here waiting for Tyler's class to finish I thought, since it's THANKSGIVING (NOT Christmas yet --> for all the retail stores that ALREADY have their Christmas stuff out) I'll post a few things that I'm grateful for.

1) First off, and probably the most obvious...Tyler. He's the sweetest husband a girl could ever ask for. He makes me want to be better in every way. I'm so happy I have him in my life. I'm so glad he's my husband.

2) My family, all of them. They may be crazy most of the time but I still love them.

3) School. Yes I'm grateful for school even though it's not fun all the time...or most of the time. I'm still glad that I have the chance to get an education.

4) My job. I love the people I work with and how well we get along. It's a great place.

5) My Home, Logan. I love Logan. It may be freezing cold and snowy for about 8-9 months of the year but I love it here. Once we're done with Med School I'm hopeful that we can move back, and once again relive our Aggie days. :) I love being an Aggie!

There's more but I won't bore you with every little detail. You're welcome.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and eat lots and lots of food! It's the one day a year where you can give in to the glutton inside and not have to feel bad about it. ;) If I remember, which is highly unlikely, I might get some pictures of our first Thanksgiving together at the Grand America Hotel with the Shumways. I'm so excited! It should be a good time.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

She Lives!!!

Celine is alive and well! All we had to do was replace the battery. I'm so glad that's all it was and it didn't cost us a lot to fix her. Let's be honest here...a '93 Toyota Corolla with 262K miles on it, not really worth putting more than a couple hundred into fixing. If that were the case we would have said, "Well...she's lived a good life and it's time to put her to rest." But, she's a tough old bird and isn't going down that easily just yet. Hopefully we'll get a few more good years out of her before she finally decides to kick the bucket. :)

Break Down...

So last night Tyler told me he would be home from work around 6:00. I got the house cleaned, the dishes and laundry all done, and dinner made. I look at the clock and it's 6:30...and no Tyler. I go look at my phone and I have 4 missed calls, 2 text messages, and a voice mail. Tyler's car wouldn't start and he's stuck on campus! Luckily he was able to get ahold of a friend to come rescue him (because I didn't hear my phone over the washing machine, dryer, and dinner cooking) Anyway, he was quite sad that his beloved Celine wouldn't start. It has no signs of life. So she gets to spend a few days parked on campus until we can fix her. Hopefully it won't be too expensive or difficult. We can manage with just Oscar (my car) but it's going to be a rough few days. Here's hoping that all goes well...

I'm still alive!

So I realize I'm a horrbile blogger. I just get busy and forget about it. :) Anyway I don't think I've posted anything since my birthday...which was AWESOME by the way. I basically have the greatest husband of all time. Believe it...it's true. I love that boy so very much.  :) And now I have to stop that before I induce gagging in all my wonderful readers causing them to never come back and read about my rather boring life again. ;)

As for an update...school started...again. It's never going to end I swear. Hopefully it will go quickly and according to plan. This semester shouldn't be too bad for me as far as classes go, the only one I'm taking that's required for my major is Stats and it's a retake because I crashed and burned last semester. In my defense though...it's hard being a full time student, having a full time job, and planning a wedding all at once. Last semester was awesome for me (*cough cough*). Good thing I won't have to do that again.

Speaking of marriage...we're coming up on 4 months already! How crazy is that?! It does not feel like it's been that long already. Time flies when you're having fun I guess.

Speaking of fun. We've been having lots of it this summer. Most of it has just been getting our house organized and feeling like ours and spending time with each other. But, this Labor Day weekend we went up with my family to our cabin in the Uintahs. It was so wonderful to get away from everything for a few days. We took our homework with us, but did any of it get done? Of course not! We felt a little better about ourselves just bringing it though, it's the thought that counts right? Instead we played games, went 4-wheeling, walked down to the river, and watched movies. It was a good time and helped Tyler come out of his shell around my family a little bit. That was great...they haven't quite grasped the magnitude of his ridiculous-ness yet. So that was a good thing.

Speaking of good things. Me and Tyler had some time between classes the other day so we went and checked out Day on the Quad (since it was the first week of school). There was a booth for SE Needham Jewelers and they were having a drawing for a Wii. We put our names in just for fun to see what would happen. I got a call at work from Tyler later that day...that's right WE WON! Well Tyler's name was drawn so I guess HE won. Funny part of this story though...we already have a Wii...so we have a brand new, never been used, still in the box Wii if anyone wants to buy it from us. :) It was pretty funny. We laughed about it for a long time.

Anyway I think that's all the exciting things we've got right now. I'll try to keep up better in the future. :)

New Addition!

I bet all of you think I'm going to say something about this...

Well...
I'm not. Haha fooled ya! It's only been two months guys. ;)

This would be the new addition I'm referring to...

Yes, everyone Tyler bought me a hutch for my birthday, isn't he sweet. I saw that one that Tyanna had posted on her blog and I thought I would look on KSL to see what I could find. I wasn't expecting to find one that I liked...let alone end up with one. But, this one was posted and it was only $100!!! What kind of crazy person would pass up that deal, right? So I jumped on it while I could. I told Tyler about it and that if he was ok with it then that's what he could get me for my birthday (which is Sunday the 17th). We called the guy that was selling it Monday night and made arrangements to go look at it tonight (Thursday). We didn't exactly tell him that we wanted to buy it, just that we wanted to look at it. I called my brother and made arrangements to borrow his truck and we looked at the hutch and in about 5 minutes it was loaded and we were on our way. It's a pretty great birthday present. Thank you, Tyler. You're the best husband in the whole wide world! Love you! :)

PS: That second baby picture I posted is my nephew Dainin when he was born...he's 2 now. :)

Honeymoon pictures!

I know it's been a while but I finally remembered while I was at home that I needed to post these so here are some of them.

This is what our friends did to our car at the reception. We went straight to a car wash.

This is a shot of the blue sky when we were waiting for our shuttle at the airport. It was like this the entire time we were in California.

This is our hotel room in the Paradise Pier Disney Hotel. It was pretty sweet.

This was the view from our hotel room. We were looking over California Adventure from the 7th floor.

Autopia

Tyler and his Lego castle. Look at that happy face! :)

Finding Nemo Submarine

We were sad cuz the Matterhorn broke down...

But then it got fixed. :)

Buzz Lightyear to the rescue!

Winnie the Pooh and Tigger. We didn't want to wait in line for a picture with them so I just took one from the side. Sneaky, right? ;)

Just because I had to. Pirates is the BEST!

Blue Bayou restaurant INSIDE the Pirates ride. That's right! It was SO cool!!!

Anyway, I took more pictures than this but I didn't want this to be the longest post of all time so I only picked a few. We had a way good time and it was the best vacation ever! Good times were had by all. :)

Name Change

I haven't changed my name yet but my blog has! Since I am no longer single it's not just MY life anymore it's now OUR life and will be for the rest of eternity. :) So I thought it fitting to change the title of my blog to "This is Our Life" still to the same theme as before, it just includes Tyler now. Niether of us can believe that it's been almost two weeks since we got married. It doesn't feel that much different than before...we're just together all the time now. It's great! I'm thoroughly enjoying the whole thing. =D I fully intend to change my name to Katie Shumway, I'm just waiting on our marriage license to come back...along with a day off so I can go to Ogden to do it so I don't have to wait for them to come to Logan.

Anyway, for those of you who don't know Tyler and I spent our Honeymoon in Disneyland. It was so much fun! I don't have any pictures right now but I posted them all to Facebook so you can look at them there until I get some posted here. We had a blast and the weather in California was darn near perfect! A nice change from the cold, gloomy rain we've been having in Logan for a while. Funny story. One of the days we spent in Disneyland we had a bad luck streak of rides breaking down on us. In one day we had 5 break down. That's right 5. They were and these are in no particular order, Indiana Jones (this one broke down right as we were about to get on so they gave us fast passes that would be valid anytime during that day), Haunted Mansion (this one had issues every time we went on it but once), Space Mountain (this one is one of my favorites we went on it probably 10 times), Matterhorn (another favorite), and Alice in Wonderland. It was crazy! And they all happened around the same time too! We didn't feel too bad about it though cuz we had 4 days in the park and we only stayed till closing once. It was a good time! Oh! Another fun thing that we did was we ate at the Blue Bayou restaurant. It's the one that's INSIDE Pirates of the Caribbean. Yeah...awesome, right! It was super tasty too. :) I recommend it if you get the chance. It's a little pricey but worth it. How often do you get to eat inside a ride in Disneyland? It was definitely a highlight.

We also went to Medieval Times one night. That was fun! Tyler had never been before. We were the Green Knight and the bad guy...so we didn't win...our rival the Red Knight won. Darn. It was still fun though. I got a video of some jousting on my camera. Awesome!

A highlight for Tyler was definitely the Lego Store in Downtown Disney. We spent a lot of time in there just looking at stuff. Tyler found a big Lego castle that he really wanted but he didn't want to spend that much on it and he was a little worried about getting it home. I did some persuading and finally talked him into getting it and a few Star Wars Lego keychains. He doesn't regret it at all and we have a nice castle on display in our apartment. As for the keychains...I got C3PO and he got R2D2 and then we threw in Darth Vader cuz the were buy 2 get 1 free. Sweet deal!

Anyway, I think that's all the fun stuff of recent events. I'll post pictures later don't you fret. ;)

May 12, 2011

You'd think I was getting married or something...

We're down to a WEEK! That's right 7 days! One week from today I will be Mrs Katie Shumway! =D So excited! Can't wait.

It's going to be a great day! An exciting week is ahead of me. First up temple tomorrow! :) Good times. Life is so super wonderful!

Finals

I thought this week would never come. This semester has been one of the longest of my life. (I woner why that is? It's not like I'm getting married at the end of it or anything...) I'm now to the point that I don't even really care anymore, I just want to be done and have a nice long break. Unfortunately I still have 3 finals to take. First up will be Stats tomorrow...if the rest of the tests in this class have been an indicator of how this one will go...FAIL! At least I'll get it out of the way first, right? I've been trying to study for it so I can attempt to do well, but like I said, zero motivation. Next is Business English at 7:30 Wednesday morning! This one will be easy. My lowest test score in that class is like 88% or something like that. Easy peasey. I probably won't study much for that one, I haven't studied for any other test either, it's my easy A class for the semester. ;) Last but not least is Accounting (*grumble*) I struggle with this class. It's easy when the teacher explains it and I get it while I'm in class but by the time I get home and try to remember things and do the homework on my own I forget everything and end up missing something and doing it wrong. It's very frustrating. Thankfully this is the last accounting class I will ever have to take (YES!!!) Hopefully with some solid studying I can do well enough to pull a C. That would be great! Ooh then there's my Econ class, this one makes me happy! Final = optional. It was going to be mandatory until about the beginning of April and then my professor held it to a vote to make the final optional. Of course we're going to vote that way. Finals are terrible! Ok it is open book/open note so it would be a piece of cake anyway but I decided that if I had at least a B- when he finalized grades then I wasn't going to worry about the final and focus on doing well on the others (especially Stats and Accounting) and I'm getting a B. Yay! So that's one less final I have to take this week. Great news!

On another note, Tyler and I got the keys to our apartment yesterday! It was super exciting! We have a home! I can't wait to start moving stuff in there and get settled. There are a few things we'll need to clean a bit but that's ok. I'm so excited to start a new life with Tyler in a couple weeks. I love him so much, he's the best guy ever!

April 19, 2011

Announcement!

In case anyone hadn't noticed yet...I'M GETTING MARRIED EXACTLY 1 MONTH FROM TODAY!!!!!

I just might a little bit excited about it. Only a little though. It's hardly worth noticing, really. ;) JK!!! I'm super excited! I can't wait! I remember when me and Tyler first got engaged I thought May 19th was FOR-EVER away and now it's almost here! GAH!!! School is almost done, I can't wait...I'm so done it's not even funny and, OF COURSE, the semester is now moving slower than frozen molasses running uphill. One more week of classes and then finals and I'm DONE! I think I can make it. I have my Temple Reccommend Interview on May 3rd and I go through on the 13th (yes, I realize it's Friday the 13th...I did it on purpose. MUAHAHAHA) that will be exciting. Then a week after that is the anticipated ocassion of MARRIAGE! Life is so super great and so super busy. I'm excited for everything but at the same time I kind of just want everything to be done at the same time. That might only be because there's the week we're spending in Disneyland after we get married that has also got me very excited. =D

It should be a good time.

April 13, 2011

Only...

5 weeks, or a month and 6 days, or 36 days, or .1 years...however you want to look at it, that's how much time I have left before me and Tyler GET MARRIED!!! I'm so excited I can't even tell you! It's gonna be just great! Our announcements are in the process of being printed so that's done. I have temples reserved for both my Endowments and the actual ceremony. I'll go through the Bountiful Temple exactly a month from today. That's cool, right! Life is so great! Wedding plans are pretty much done. I'm doing Bridals next weekend and I have my family Bridal Shower. More stuff, YES!!! It's a grocery shower this time (as is Aardema family tradition) so hopefully I won't have to stock my shelves too much more after that and I might even get some good receipes to start my own little book or something. I'm not good at experimenting in the kitchen like Tyler is, I need recipes to follow. :) Another exciting thing, we FINALLY have a place to live! It's down around 500 S 300 W. I'm not for sure about the exact address but it's that general area. It's a nice place. I'm happy we found something, now I can stop stressing about it. ;) Now all we really have to do is finish the semester and wait for May 19 to get here. I hope it goes by fast!

March 30, 2011

Hey look!

Engagements are here! I love them! Here are some of my favorites that weren't posted on my photographers blog. :)

I think we like each other just a little. ;) What do you think?

March 17, 2011

Engagements!

Ok so I don't have them personally yet...but if you visit this blog it will take you straight to them. I think they're rather adorable myslef, but you guys will just have to see for yourselves. :) I hope you like them as much as I do! I'm excited to see the rest of them.

Day off

Yesterday I had a day off. It was really nice, both in weather and just having a day where I could do what I needed to. I woke up around 8, which is huge for me since I'm not a morning person at all. Early classes for both Tyler and me this semester is messing with my head I think. It was nice being up though, then I didn't have to rush to get ready. I could take my time. So I got dressed, fixed my hair a little bit, and watched a couple episodes of Friends. The night before I had a small emergency...while I was closing the gate to the branch I broke a nail! It hurt so bad! I called Tammy as soon as I could and told her what happened. I needed it fixed ASAP cuz me and Tyler were taking our engagement pictures Wednesday afternoon. She was able to fit me in on her lunch, which meant I got to go back and visit good old Lomond View Elementary. I always forget how tiny that school is, it seemed so huge when I was little and was at school there. We turned that Faculty Room into a nail salon for a few minutes. The different reactions from the teachers were really funny! The difference between the reaction from girls versus the guys was amazing. One teacher came in, female, and said that was her favorite smell in the world and immediately after that another teacher stopped in, male, and he could barely breath...seriously almost gagging. Crazy! Personally I love the smell of fresh acrylic nails, it's wonderful. Anyway I got my nail fixed all pretty again and headed back up to Logan to get ready for pictures.

Chelsea took us to a bunch of her favorite spots around Logan. Most I didn't know existed, little alleys tucked between the old buildings. It was super fun. We'll have a lot of fun ones to choose from I'm sure. I'm excited to get them back. I'll post a few here when I do and the rest I'll probably upload to Facebook. So watch for those. :)

After pictures we stopped by Avonlea on Main Street to pick up a little suit I had ordered in for Hunter and Dain to wear at my reception. So cute, I'm so excited! Then we stopped in the branch and opened a Wedding Account, hopefully that will lessen the amount we get in cards and stuff at the reception...plus it'll make it easier to keep track of since I work at AFCU. Since we were in Macey's we grabbed a few groceries to make dinner and then spent the rest of the night watching Scrubs. It was a good day off, it felt like a real day off too, no work AND no school! Super nice!

March 7, 2011

Sick Day...

Saturday I stayed home from work, sick. I felt fine the night before, and I was at Tyler's till about 12:30. He finally made me go home and by the time we had read and stuff it was about 1. I woke up randomly at 5 am with a massive headache, sore throat, and a stuffy nose. It was pretty awful. I tried to go back to sleep, but couldn't so I decided that I'd go downstairs and watch a movie and maybe that would put me back to sleep. I was awake for about an hour longer before I finally started to doze off again, and even then I didn't stay asleep for very long. I figured since I felt crappy and didn't get a lot of sleep it would be best if I stayed home, so I called work and told them I wouldn't be coming in. I haven't taken a sick day since before I moved to Cache Valley almost two years ago...I don't get sick that often. I felt kinda bad but then again...it's better to stay home than be barely functional, right? I sent a message to Tyler and told him that I called in sick and asked if he would come take care of me. He came right over...with a can of Chicken Noodle Soup! Isn't he the sweetest? He also brought along Arrested Development and Futurama. We then proceeded to be lazy bums and watched a lot of movies. We watched Harry Potter 1 and 2, Snow White, Shrek 2, and several episodes of Arrested Development and Futurama. I kept telling Tyler I was sorry that I was boring and was asleep a lot. He would tell me that it's ok cuz I was sick and he would rather me be asleep and get better than be at work getting other people sick. See, he's so sweet! So that was Saturday. Sunday I still felt crappy but a little better than the day before so I went to church with Tyler. His ward starts at 9:30 and he has Sacrament meeting first. I was secretly hoping that we would just go to that and then go home but then he went to turn in his tithing and the Bishop stopped him and said he wanted to meet with us after church for a minute since we're engaged now. Gotta have the "Engagement Interview" ;) We decided that since we would have to come back anyway we might as well stay for all of church. Darn. Anyway Tyler found the ward clerk and scheduled us at 2:45, so we had some time after church to eat some lunch before we had to go back. We got done eating at like 1. I laid down on the couch and fell asleep again and didn't wake up until Tyler said it was time to go. It was a good interview, Tyler's bishop is a nice guy. After that I broke into my room mate's room (with permission of course!) and grabbed Friends off her shelf so I could watch it. That's what me and Tyler did the rest of the afternoon...watch Friends. I love that show! It's wonderful. We finished season 4 ("I, Ross, take the Rachel... *GASP!!!!*), unfortunately Karlie (my room mate/cousin) took season 5 home with her over the break, so we have to live in suspense until she gets back! That's ok I know what happens. ;) All in all it was a pretty boring sickly weekend...I'm still not completely better :( I hope I get better soon cuz me and Tyler are taking our engagement pictures on Wednesday...I doubt I'll get better that soon though. Sad. Hopefully I won't look gross and sicky in the pictures...that would be the worst. I don't think I will though. I have a good photographer. :)

Surprise!

So I have the best fiance ever!!! Today he came to the branch to have lunch with me, this isn't the surprise he comes to lunch with me all the time, especially on Saturdays when he has nothing else to do all day while I'm at work. I didn't notice it right away when he got to the branch but as we were walking through the parking lot to my car I noticed he was holding my hand funny. He had his pinky tucked in like he was trying to keep it warm or something, he'll do this with his thumb all the time...but never his pinky. Weird... I was like what are you doing and then I looked at his finger and on it was my newly sized engagement ring!!! He had gone and picked it up on his way to meet me at work! We weren't expecting to have it back until Monday at the very soonest. I was super excited! There may or may not have been squeals of delight and jumping up and down right there in the Macey's parking lot (ok there was...I was excited, ok. Judge me.). It was the greatest surprise ever!! It was perfect timing too cuz now I'll have it when we go down and see his family this weekend!

I love Tyler so much! He's the greatest, sweetest person ever! I'm so lucky to have him!

February 16, 2011

Tragedy!

Ok so this really isn't a tragedy at all. It'll be better later anyway. I just have to be patient. Not one of my strongest points sometimes. Me and Tyler took my ring in to be sized yesterday afternoon. I didn't want to do it in the first place cuz it meant taking it off and being without it, but I don't want to lose it either cuz it's too big. It was a sad moment, especially when the lady that helped us told us it wouldn't be ready until February 22nd!! A whole week away! She told me that sometimes it's done sooner than that but they just like to give the worst case in case it really does take that long. After we left Morgan Jewelers we went and wandered the mall for a while, then we went to dinner at Chili's. During dinner, Tyler reminded me that we were going down to Centerville to see his family this weekend since his sister will be in town. Then we realized that they haven't seen my ring yet and will want to see it while they're here...and we took it in to be sized and won't get it back till after the weekend. Oops!! They'll just have to settle for a picture I guess...cuz that's the best we can do right now. If it had been earlier we have gone back and gotten it back...but they had already closed. Dang!

February 9, 2011

So here is a story...

all about how my life got flipped turned upside down. I'd like to take a minute just sit right down and I'll tell you how I got engaged in my little college town. (that was rad.) =D

So as my clever little intro may have mentioned, I'm now engaged! It's so exciting right! Anyway here are the deets. I knew Tyler was picking up my ring sometime Monday afternoon and I also knew he was planning on calling my dad that night as well. I didn't think he would propose the same day though. In fact I figured he wouldn't. He told me many times that once he got my ring he would probably carry it around in his pocket for a week before he actually proposed. I told him when I first showed the ring that I wanted that I didn't want to know when he bought it or anything like that cuz I wanted to be surprised. Yeah...that didn't go so well, even if he tried to do it that way my curiosity would have gotten the better if me and I would've bugged him till he told me anyway. So surprise is out the window at this point. Anyway, I got home from work that night knowing what all went down for Tyler that day. He came over to my apartment and asked if I wanted to get pizza with him cuz he was hungry. I had already eaten but I said I would go with him anyway (ok I did end up eating a slice and a couple pieces of crazy bread anyway...). I knew he bought my ring that day but I didn't know if he had it with him or not. While we were waiting for our pizza I got curious and started checking his pockets. I checked all of them! His pants pockets, his jacket pockets, even the hood on his jacket...no luck. Grrr. Then we got in the car and drove back to my apartment. I started on some homework, slightly disappointed when I couldn't find my ring. He leaned over to me and told me that he did have it on his person and that if I could find it then I could have it. I got excited and checked all his pockets again. Nothing. I went over by the door and shook out his shoes. Nothing. I checked all the belt loops of his jeans. Nothing. I checked all the seams of his shirt. Nothing. I checked his socks. Still nothing. Then I had an idea...ya know that little tiny pocket that they tuck in the normal pocket that's barely big enough to put a tube of chap stick in? I hadn't checked that one yet. I started to go for that one and Tyler immediately said, "Hey, stay out of there." I knew I had hit the jackpot! I didn't pull it out yet though. I'd let him do that part. ;) So I went back to my homework trying to finish as soon as possible. I couldn't focus anyway. A little bit later we started watching Arrested Development and as we were sitting on my couch he started playing with my Claddaugh Ring that I had been wearing before. He would take it off and wait a minute before he put it back on. My hand was under a blanket so I couldn't see what ring he was putting back on my finger. Every time I checked, it was never the real one. After he did this like 20 times I took my hand away so he would stop torturing me. Another few minutes went by and I was starting to get antsy and a little annoyed that he hadn't just asked me yet. It was torture I tell you! ;) Then he grabbed my chin the way he always does and said, "Hey, look at me... Katie, will you marry me?" I smiled and said yes. Then he put my ring on my finger. =D It wasn't anything elaborate or this huge planned out thing, in fact we weren't even home alone, all my room mates were just in their rooms at the time. It was still pretty cute though. So, yeah, that's the story.

We'll be getting married Thursday May 19th in the Logan Temple. I'm super excited! I never thought I would say that a Monday was a fabulous day...but this one was! =D

Warm Fuzzies

So if you ever need something to give you that warm fuzzy feeling or a reminder of what you're striving for I found this scripture randomly today. It's Proverbs 31:10-12, 30. It says:

" Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised."

Anyway I just thought this was a good reminder to me of who I really am and what I should be doing. We all need that every once in a while...right? So I thought I'd share with all of my wonderful followers. ;) You're all the greatest!

Happy Groundhog Day!

So just to update everyone that reads my blog, which probably isn't many. ;) Things between Tyler and I are still going strong. He got hired at a research lab on campus on Monday and put in his first day yesterday! It was super exciting. I freaked out when he told me he finally got a job. I'm so proud of him for never giving up even though he wasn't having luck for awhile. Love him! :) Just an FYI since this new development in his life there may be an exciting story or two in the very near future ;) ;) *cough cough, hint hint* ;) Haha!

Anyway that's really all I have going on right now. School is going good, still super busy, but good. Work is still the same as always. Good times at the credit union. :)

Life is wonderful and great!

I realize that the title has nothing to do with this post other than I posted it on Groundhog Day. Which, by the way, according to an article on Yahoo the groundhog predicted an early spring! I'm totally ok with that! It's been freezing cold the last couple days! Walking to class in the morning has been nothing short of torture. I live like two minutes from campus and my face was completely numb by the time I got there. Totally insane! Oh well...that's what I get for living in Logan I guess. Maybe someday I'll live somewhere warm...hmmm...well actually...probably not, Tyler likes the cold...darn...kinda ruins my plans.

Last Weekend of Freedom!

So this last weekend was crazy! It was super busy but nice at the same time. I worked my last shift for the week on Wednesday and then had the rest of the week off. That was super nice! That night me and Tyler just hung out at his apt since all of our room mates were gone still. Thursday we went to lunch with my dad and then packed up a weekend bag and headed for Tooele to stay at Tyler's dad's house. We made a short stop in Centerville at his mom's house for a little bit. We didn't stay long because no one was there. Then we made another stop at Tyler's brother Levi's apt in Salt Lake to work on his computer that was having issues. Tyler's good at that stuff. After that we went up Millcreek Canyon to a restaurant called Log Haven. It was pretty fancy. I think the cheapest thing on the menu was like $20. It was super tasty though. Both me and Tyler were glad that his sister and new husband (the main reason for all of the happenings of the weekend) were treating all of us. They live and work in NYC so the cost of living in Utah is practically pocket change I'm sure, haha. Anyway, after dinner we finally got to Tyler's dad's house in Tooele. Everyone was already in bed and we were tired too so we went to bed. Friday we went up to Park City to spend time with Tyler's sister Charity, the one that just got married. They were staying at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel up there. Also super nice. Their room felt more like my apt than a hotel. It was fun though. We played games and talked with family. We left the hotel around 11ish and headed back down to Tooele. The next morning we got up and just chilled until about 12:45-1 ish. Then we went and had lunch at The Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake. Another meal that was super tasty but no doubt pricy. It was really good...and the desserts, divine! From there we went to Sports Den to look at some shoes that Julia (Tyler's other sister) wanted to get. They were those cool running shoes that have a slot for each of your toes. They were pretty sweet. After that Julia dropped me and Tyler off at Levi's cuz his comupter was still having issues so Tyler had to look at it again. They got it fixed now though so it's working. Then we went to the Devoreaux (sp? I have no idea) Mansion across the street from the Energy Solutions Arena. This is where Charity and Greg (her new husband) were having their wedding reception. They got married at the beginning of November last year in New York so they had to come here to have a reception for the friends and family that couldn't make it to New York for the real thing. It was a really nice reception and they had a pretty good turn out. At least I thought so. Once everyone had come and gone we cleaned up and headed home. We watched a movie...Julia and Steven (Tyler's younger half brother) did, me and Tyler fell asleep. After the movie we were obviously tired so we went to bed. Sunday morning me, Tyler , and Julia were the only ones that slept in. Everyone else got up and went to church at 9. Julia got up and went to Sacrament meeting. Me and Tyler just hung out till abou 11 then we got ready for my friend and former room mate Tammy's farewell. She's leaving for the San Bernadino California Mission on Wednesday I believe. She's going to be such an awesome missionary! I will miss her though. That's ok, she's doing the right thing. She's so great! It was good to go and see all of the Monkeys again. I miss them all so much! We got a picture of all 6 of the originals together (Nicole, Jessika, Annie, Tammy, Emma, and me). It was like a reunion. After the meeting we went to Tammy's house and had dinner. It was starting to get dark so we decided we better hit the road since we had to get back to Logan before too late.

Overall it was a very eventful weekend filled with family, friends, and fun. I was a little sad when it was all over...that could be because I knew the next thing I had to do was school, which started this morning...ick. Anyway, I'm ok with it. It will hopefully make the next fews months go by quickly so we can look forward to more family events ;) It's going to be a good time!
