I am Grateful

So as I'm sitting here waiting for Tyler's class to finish I thought, since it's THANKSGIVING (NOT Christmas yet --> for all the retail stores that ALREADY have their Christmas stuff out) I'll post a few things that I'm grateful for.

1) First off, and probably the most obvious...Tyler. He's the sweetest husband a girl could ever ask for. He makes me want to be better in every way. I'm so happy I have him in my life. I'm so glad he's my husband.

2) My family, all of them. They may be crazy most of the time but I still love them.

3) School. Yes I'm grateful for school even though it's not fun all the time...or most of the time. I'm still glad that I have the chance to get an education.

4) My job. I love the people I work with and how well we get along. It's a great place.

5) My Home, Logan. I love Logan. It may be freezing cold and snowy for about 8-9 months of the year but I love it here. Once we're done with Med School I'm hopeful that we can move back, and once again relive our Aggie days. :) I love being an Aggie!

There's more but I won't bore you with every little detail. You're welcome.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and eat lots and lots of food! It's the one day a year where you can give in to the glutton inside and not have to feel bad about it. ;) If I remember, which is highly unlikely, I might get some pictures of our first Thanksgiving together at the Grand America Hotel with the Shumways. I'm so excited! It should be a good time.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

She Lives!!!

Celine is alive and well! All we had to do was replace the battery. I'm so glad that's all it was and it didn't cost us a lot to fix her. Let's be honest here...a '93 Toyota Corolla with 262K miles on it, not really worth putting more than a couple hundred into fixing. If that were the case we would have said, "Well...she's lived a good life and it's time to put her to rest." But, she's a tough old bird and isn't going down that easily just yet. Hopefully we'll get a few more good years out of her before she finally decides to kick the bucket. :)

Break Down...

So last night Tyler told me he would be home from work around 6:00. I got the house cleaned, the dishes and laundry all done, and dinner made. I look at the clock and it's 6:30...and no Tyler. I go look at my phone and I have 4 missed calls, 2 text messages, and a voice mail. Tyler's car wouldn't start and he's stuck on campus! Luckily he was able to get ahold of a friend to come rescue him (because I didn't hear my phone over the washing machine, dryer, and dinner cooking) Anyway, he was quite sad that his beloved Celine wouldn't start. It has no signs of life. So she gets to spend a few days parked on campus until we can fix her. Hopefully it won't be too expensive or difficult. We can manage with just Oscar (my car) but it's going to be a rough few days. Here's hoping that all goes well...

I'm still alive!

So I realize I'm a horrbile blogger. I just get busy and forget about it. :) Anyway I don't think I've posted anything since my birthday...which was AWESOME by the way. I basically have the greatest husband of all time. Believe it...it's true. I love that boy so very much.  :) And now I have to stop that before I induce gagging in all my wonderful readers causing them to never come back and read about my rather boring life again. ;)

As for an update...school started...again. It's never going to end I swear. Hopefully it will go quickly and according to plan. This semester shouldn't be too bad for me as far as classes go, the only one I'm taking that's required for my major is Stats and it's a retake because I crashed and burned last semester. In my defense though...it's hard being a full time student, having a full time job, and planning a wedding all at once. Last semester was awesome for me (*cough cough*). Good thing I won't have to do that again.

Speaking of marriage...we're coming up on 4 months already! How crazy is that?! It does not feel like it's been that long already. Time flies when you're having fun I guess.

Speaking of fun. We've been having lots of it this summer. Most of it has just been getting our house organized and feeling like ours and spending time with each other. But, this Labor Day weekend we went up with my family to our cabin in the Uintahs. It was so wonderful to get away from everything for a few days. We took our homework with us, but did any of it get done? Of course not! We felt a little better about ourselves just bringing it though, it's the thought that counts right? Instead we played games, went 4-wheeling, walked down to the river, and watched movies. It was a good time and helped Tyler come out of his shell around my family a little bit. That was great...they haven't quite grasped the magnitude of his ridiculous-ness yet. So that was a good thing.

Speaking of good things. Me and Tyler had some time between classes the other day so we went and checked out Day on the Quad (since it was the first week of school). There was a booth for SE Needham Jewelers and they were having a drawing for a Wii. We put our names in just for fun to see what would happen. I got a call at work from Tyler later that day...that's right WE WON! Well Tyler's name was drawn so I guess HE won. Funny part of this story though...we already have a Wii...so we have a brand new, never been used, still in the box Wii if anyone wants to buy it from us. :) It was pretty funny. We laughed about it for a long time.

Anyway I think that's all the exciting things we've got right now. I'll try to keep up better in the future. :)

New Addition!

I bet all of you think I'm going to say something about this...

Well...
I'm not. Haha fooled ya! It's only been two months guys. ;)

This would be the new addition I'm referring to...

Yes, everyone Tyler bought me a hutch for my birthday, isn't he sweet. I saw that one that Tyanna had posted on her blog and I thought I would look on KSL to see what I could find. I wasn't expecting to find one that I liked...let alone end up with one. But, this one was posted and it was only $100!!! What kind of crazy person would pass up that deal, right? So I jumped on it while I could. I told Tyler about it and that if he was ok with it then that's what he could get me for my birthday (which is Sunday the 17th). We called the guy that was selling it Monday night and made arrangements to go look at it tonight (Thursday). We didn't exactly tell him that we wanted to buy it, just that we wanted to look at it. I called my brother and made arrangements to borrow his truck and we looked at the hutch and in about 5 minutes it was loaded and we were on our way. It's a pretty great birthday present. Thank you, Tyler. You're the best husband in the whole wide world! Love you! :)

PS: That second baby picture I posted is my nephew Dainin when he was born...he's 2 now. :)

Honeymoon pictures!

I know it's been a while but I finally remembered while I was at home that I needed to post these so here are some of them.

This is what our friends did to our car at the reception. We went straight to a car wash.

This is a shot of the blue sky when we were waiting for our shuttle at the airport. It was like this the entire time we were in California.

This is our hotel room in the Paradise Pier Disney Hotel. It was pretty sweet.

This was the view from our hotel room. We were looking over California Adventure from the 7th floor.

Autopia

Tyler and his Lego castle. Look at that happy face! :)

Finding Nemo Submarine

We were sad cuz the Matterhorn broke down...

But then it got fixed. :)

Buzz Lightyear to the rescue!

Winnie the Pooh and Tigger. We didn't want to wait in line for a picture with them so I just took one from the side. Sneaky, right? ;)

Just because I had to. Pirates is the BEST!

Blue Bayou restaurant INSIDE the Pirates ride. That's right! It was SO cool!!!

Anyway, I took more pictures than this but I didn't want this to be the longest post of all time so I only picked a few. We had a way good time and it was the best vacation ever! Good times were had by all. :)

Name Change

I haven't changed my name yet but my blog has! Since I am no longer single it's not just MY life anymore it's now OUR life and will be for the rest of eternity. :) So I thought it fitting to change the title of my blog to "This is Our Life" still to the same theme as before, it just includes Tyler now. Niether of us can believe that it's been almost two weeks since we got married. It doesn't feel that much different than before...we're just together all the time now. It's great! I'm thoroughly enjoying the whole thing. =D I fully intend to change my name to Katie Shumway, I'm just waiting on our marriage license to come back...along with a day off so I can go to Ogden to do it so I don't have to wait for them to come to Logan.

Anyway, for those of you who don't know Tyler and I spent our Honeymoon in Disneyland. It was so much fun! I don't have any pictures right now but I posted them all to Facebook so you can look at them there until I get some posted here. We had a blast and the weather in California was darn near perfect! A nice change from the cold, gloomy rain we've been having in Logan for a while. Funny story. One of the days we spent in Disneyland we had a bad luck streak of rides breaking down on us. In one day we had 5 break down. That's right 5. They were and these are in no particular order, Indiana Jones (this one broke down right as we were about to get on so they gave us fast passes that would be valid anytime during that day), Haunted Mansion (this one had issues every time we went on it but once), Space Mountain (this one is one of my favorites we went on it probably 10 times), Matterhorn (another favorite), and Alice in Wonderland. It was crazy! And they all happened around the same time too! We didn't feel too bad about it though cuz we had 4 days in the park and we only stayed till closing once. It was a good time! Oh! Another fun thing that we did was we ate at the Blue Bayou restaurant. It's the one that's INSIDE Pirates of the Caribbean. Yeah...awesome, right! It was super tasty too. :) I recommend it if you get the chance. It's a little pricey but worth it. How often do you get to eat inside a ride in Disneyland? It was definitely a highlight.

We also went to Medieval Times one night. That was fun! Tyler had never been before. We were the Green Knight and the bad guy...so we didn't win...our rival the Red Knight won. Darn. It was still fun though. I got a video of some jousting on my camera. Awesome!

A highlight for Tyler was definitely the Lego Store in Downtown Disney. We spent a lot of time in there just looking at stuff. Tyler found a big Lego castle that he really wanted but he didn't want to spend that much on it and he was a little worried about getting it home. I did some persuading and finally talked him into getting it and a few Star Wars Lego keychains. He doesn't regret it at all and we have a nice castle on display in our apartment. As for the keychains...I got C3PO and he got R2D2 and then we threw in Darth Vader cuz the were buy 2 get 1 free. Sweet deal!

Anyway, I think that's all the fun stuff of recent events. I'll post pictures later don't you fret. ;)
